This is a bright fair day. We got up about seven, breakfast, company drill, dress parade, supper brought & is quickly through & evening. Visited over to see our sick — Henry Miller, Hogan & Kelly in the hospital. Sent them tea and toast. The hospital situation and the hospital arrangements are far from comfortable. Besides them lay Charles Drainer, weakened down with a severe hemorrhage, & not long for this world. He was with our company in the three months service & was lately in Hagerstown. He has been discharged in the service, went out into town to inquire for Mrs. Monroe, but since he has moved away to take charge of a school at Frederick. His brother Harry has now charge of the seminary. Col. Hartshorne’s lady was here this evening. The Col. returned from Washington this evening.
