Description

"The Bechler River region was not thoroughly explored until 1921, when Mr. Wm. C. Gregg of Hackensack headed a pack train expedition consisting of Col. C. H. Birdseye of the United States Geological Survey, his assistant, two rangers, and J. E. Haynes, Park Photographer, very thoroughly explored, mapped and photographed this region, replete with waterfalls and cascades of size and importance. Forty-four of the most important ones have been naed since by the United States Geological Survey Board."
