LEAF at Bucknell is the first US-based installation of the Linked Editorial Academic Framework (LEAF) virtual research environment. Created in partnership with the Canadian Writing Research Collaboratory (CWRC) and colleagues at Newcastle University, LEAF is designed to assist researchers in producing, publishing, and preserving digital scholarly editions and collections using standards and best practices. Information about LEAF's features and documentation can be found on the LEAF-VRE website.
Make. Use. Share.
The LAB Cooperative is committed to:
- Help scholars and students to learn and use best practices and standards for analysis, annotation, encoding, sharing, and storing digital information.
- Ensure that digital content is produced, published, and preserved responsibly and respectfully.
- Recognize that scholarship is pursued along a continuum that involves contributors and collaborators who inhabit different and equally important positions.
Projects on Place.
LEAF at Bucknell and the LAB Cooperative support a variety of scholarly, community-engaged, and pedagogically-oriented projects from US-based researchers and their collaborators. In particular, we focus on linguistically diverse and culturally complex projects. Many of our projects in development have a strong temporospatial emphasis at the intersection of text and image.
LEAF is a major component of the Liberal Arts Based Digital Editions Publishing Cooperative (or LAB Cooperative), which has been generously funded by two grants from Mellon Foundation, in partnership with the National Historical Publications and Records Commission: a Digital Edition Publishing Cooperatives implementation grant (2020-2023), as well as a Digital Edition Publishing Cooperatives Planning grant ("REED London: Creating Collaborative Environments for Editorial Publication", 2018). The LAB Cooperative offers researchers the tools, training, and collaborative environment in which to produce and publish accessible, sustainable, collaborative, professional digital scholarship.
The LAB Cooperative, LEAF at Bucknell, and the projects supported on the platform are made possible by the generous support and encouragement of Bucknell University and in particular the Bucknell Library & Information Services division.
