had no drill— until afternoon we had <orgName type="military ">Regimental</orgName> drill. <persName key="Santo" type="lieutenant">Santo</persName> and <persName key="Bobst" type="private">Bobst</persName> returned from <placeName type="city">Beaufort</placeName>. They say that <persName key="Phillips" type="private">Phillips</persName> has not yet been found. They had heard a report of a man found floating without <objectName type="clothing">shoes</objectName> and <objectName type="clothing">stockings</objectName>, answering to his description and then again they heard that he had been taken on by the <orgName key="military">9th New Jersey</orgName> Pickets — but nothing definite. <persName key="Mitchell" type="captain">Capt.
