            <dateline>Tuesday 28.</dateline>
            <p><name type="Weather">Bright &amp; pleasant</name>. <persName>Morris</persName> on board this morning - he told us that all the
               <objectName>missing schooners</objectName> were outside, the <persName>Col. Satterlie</persName> among the number on which
               the <orgName>signal corps</orgName> embarked. <persName>Lt. Reed</persName> of that corps came on board this evening. He
               said <name type="Weather">the fog</name> that came on us in the <placeName>Chesapeake</placeName>, closed on them before they left
               <placeName>Annapolis</placeName>. They were anchored at <placeName>Fortress Monroe</placeName> during <name type="Weather">the storm</name> - came opposite
               <placeName>Hatteras Inlet</placeName> last Wednesday - <name type="Weather">the storm of Thursday</name> drove them out to sea, and
               took them clear across <name type="Weather">the gulf stream</name> - they got back last night. <persName>Rodarmel</persName> told
               me [<persName>Saml</persName>?] Wilson was a Lt. in a <orgName>Cavalry Company</orgName> in <orgName>Corman's regiment</orgName>. We had
               notice a mail would go out tomorrow morning, &amp; every one [?] himself tonight
               preparing <objectName>letters</objectName> - many no doubt, the last that they will send. <persName>North Snyder</persName>,
               among the rest brings one in to he sent to that little [darling?] [duck?] he never
               expects to see again, &amp; perhaps this is the last he says.</p>
