S. Faculty - Materiel<lb/> Ft. Sill, Okla.<lb/> July 18, 1943.</dateline><lb/> <salute>Dear Mother, Dad, & Grandma--</salute> </opener> <p> Four months ago today I picked up my commission and headed for home. It doesn't seem that long - but at the same time it seems a very long time ago that I was just an enlisted man. </p> <p> I've subscribed to Time for the coming -- renewing the subscription that was out in September - so don't you folks do anything about it. </p> <p> It's been awfully hot. I'm content to simply hole up in my room, remove my uniform and relax. For that reason, I haven’t been over to see Harry Everitt. I'll try to go tomorrow evening. </p> <p> No Demie by the name of Porter to the best of my knowledge. I can't imagine who it could have been. </p> <p> Keep me informed of what develops in the church situation. </p> <p> No, I haven’t heard from Jean Dyer for over a month. She was interested in a new job the last I heard. </p> <p> I'll keep my eye open for indian dolls-- but I don't remember having seen any. </p> <p> Not much new. It's been too hot to go anywhere or do anything. I took a nap yesterday afternoon and listened to the radio last night. </p> <p> This morning I went into town to church - the Methodist this time. The service was very nice - more like our type of service. at home. But the minister doesn't come up to our local pastors. I'm going to try the Congregational next Sunday. </p> </div> </body> </text> </TEI>
