					<salute> Dear Mother, Dad, &amp; Grandma, </salute></opener>
				 Sorry my Sunday letter didn’t arrive on time last week. I guess the flood in the
					eastern part of Okla. &amp; in the Mississippi area affected the mail. Your
					Wednesday letter has not arrived as yet either. 
				 I guess the good looking WAVE you saw, Mother, was Ann Randall. I hear she was
					on campus last week-end. 
				 I'm very much pleased with the choice. for L'Agenda queen. Marilyn certainly has
					walked off with the honors this year hasn't she? 
				 I hate to think of this class graduating from B.U., for now I shall have
					practically no friends at all remaining on campus. Outside of faculty friends,
					I'll feel like a complete stranger. 
				 I recognized a familiar face in one of my classes this week. The fellow turned
					out to be an undergradate from U. of Penn., who ate at one of the places I did
					last year. There is a Demie in the class I get this coming week— Bill Bowles
					'36. And Paul Everhart is coming along the week after that. I haven't seen
					either of them yet. 
				 Friday afternoon I went through the battle inoculation course. I told Alice
					about it in my letter to her. To avoid repetition, ask her for the letter &amp;
					read about it there. Yesterday, I had my 1st experience in writing up a section
					of my own. I had to make comments on each of my students - and I had to write up
					a complete analysis of the one boy in my section who failed. It's good
					experience. 
				 Yesterday afternoon I went into town early for dinner, did some shopping, and
					was back here by 2:00 PM. I spent the rest of the day snoozing &amp; reading. 
				 This morning I got up in time to wash out my socks - the laundry missed me this
					week - write a letter, and go to church. The bulletin is inclosed. Now I'm
					writing letters and waiting for Wells Henderson to drop in. He’s due back today. 
				 Get ahold of a copy of this week’s Time - the May 24th issue - and read the 1st
					page of the Army-Navy section - page 69. It tells the part the artillery played
					in Africa &amp; gives Sill credit for the development of our tactics. It will
					give you an idea of modern artillery. 
				 I had a card from Dr. Oliver this week. He got my address from the Bucknellian. 
				 Shay's wife arrives next weekend and he has taken a small apartment in town. So
					by this time next week I'll be alone. She'll leave again in the fall when school
					begins and Shay hopes to get back into the same room then. 
				 I've got a fairly easy week coming up as far as class work is concerned. But my
					evenings will be busy, for I have Study Hall Tuesday and I'm in charge of the
					Enlisted Instructor's Gunnery class both Monday &amp; Thursday evenings. I also
					spend a full day on the range again this week. 
				 I spent one evening this past week rearranging the pictures on my walls. Bit my
					bit, I've got the place fixed up a bit. 
				 The sun has just come out for the 1st time in a week. It hasn't rained much, but
					it has been cloudy and cold. I suppose the sun will stay out for the rest of the
					summer once it makes up its mind. I fully expect a warm summer. By August, I'll
					be anxious for a little cool weather just like we have been having.
