					<salute>Dear Mother, Dad + Grandma --</salute>
				</opener>
				 Well we had our new Chaplain today in church. He didn't tell us his name, and he
					didn't have a calendar -- so I don't know much more than I did before. It's just
					about the same as the previous Chaplain. Nothing special. I wish some of our
					Lewisburg friends who complain about Ostergren, Wilson, and Junkin could have
					our Chaplains for a few Sunday’s. They'd soon learn to appreciate the Lewisburg
					ministers. 
				 My good stationery is just about all gone again -- so I'm conserving by using
					this plain paper. It's larger and much more practical anyway. 
				 Not much new. I had Study Hall Thursday evening. Friday afternoon I had free --
					the 1st afternoon off I've had. I took a nap, then went over to the main post PX
					-- the library and down to Wells Henderson's barracks. I left him a note asking
					him to have dinner with me. 
				 Then I went down to the Officer’s Club pool and had a fine swim and got some
					more tan. Wells didn’t show up -- so I went back to his barracks. He was pretty
					much involved in packing. He left yesterday. 
				 He goes to Ft. Bragg -- to the pool there. How long he'll be there or where
					he'll go from there -- he doesn't know of course. 
				 Yesterday afternoon I was officer of the Day at the Armament Building. My duties
					consisted only in standing by to answer the telephone. And since there were
					scarcely any calls -- I got plenty of letters written. It was because I had duty
					yesterday afternoon, that I got Friday afternoon off. 
				 Last night I went into town with intentions of seeing a movie -- but they were
					showing only war pictures -- and I decided against it. I think I'll go to the
					movies here on the post this afternoon. Just as soon as I finish this letter --
					as a matter of fact. 
				 No more news as to what they will do with the extra instructors -- but a lot of
					rumors are floating around. I hope if they are going to ship us out that we'll
					get a chance at Survey or Executives School first 
				 My hut mates, Young and Zavodnik are now at Greenville, Pa -- due to go overseas
					on five hours notice. They can't go anywhere -- or even send any laundry out. By
					this time they may well be on their way. Several other buddies from 56, are
					still at Bragg -- assigned there for the time being at least. The boy from
					Allentown is one of them. 
				 Isn't it fine that Charles Bond is coming to B.U.? -- to teach! Now if he only
					doesn't work too hard at it. 
				 I bet the Rancks will be lost -- 2 of their flock gone. Helen Stanley wrote that
					Doris just decided to take the job in Schenectady and the Rancks didn’t have
					much to say about it. 
				 I had a card from Dr. Oliver in Washington. and a letter from Gene Edmunds
					saying that he's flying with the air transport command down S. America way -
					Brazil -- Puerto Rico -- and a dozen other places. The boys certainly are
					getting around. 
				 Hear Scotty Whyte finished and is now an Ensign. Bet he looks good in a uniform!
					What's the latest on Jr. Guil?
