					<lb facs='#facs_1_l_3' n='N003'/>Dear Mother, Dad, + Grandma --
					<lb facs='#facs_1_l_4' n='N004'/>Not much new tonight–so this won&apos;t be
					<lb facs='#facs_1_l_5' n='N005'/>long this time. I had study hall Monday night.
					<lb facs='#facs_1_l_6' n='N006'/>and the regular Gunnery class last night -- so
					<lb facs='#facs_1_l_7' n='N007'/>I haven&apos;t been anywhere or done anything new
					<lb facs='#facs_1_l_8' n='N008'/>and startling.
				
				
					<lb facs='#facs_1_l_1' n='N001'/>I got tired eating at the cafeteria -- so
					<lb facs='#facs_1_l_19' n='N002'/>I&apos;ve signed up for G.I. mess again. It’s no
					<lb facs='#facs_1_l_20' n='N003'/>better -- but I&apos;ll try it for awhile at least. At
					<lb facs='#facs_1_l_21' n='N004'/>least its cheap -- 70¢ a day. I can’t get a meal
					<lb facs='#facs_1_l_22' n='N005'/>for 35¢ anywhere else -- even if the army cooks
					<lb facs='#facs_1_l_23' n='N006'/>aren&apos;t such wonderful cooks.
				
				
					<lb facs='#facs_1_l_24' n='N001'/>Your candy  arrived today. Thank you
					<lb facs='#facs_1_l_25' n='N002'/>very much. I enjoyed it tremendously -- and
					<lb facs='#facs_1_l_26' n='N003'/>still am, although the boys in the office helped
					<lb facs='#facs_1_l_27' n='N004'/>me eat most of it. I&apos;m glad Mr. Birchard

					<lb facs='#facs_2_l' n='N001'/>wouldn&apos;t send chocolates, for I like this kind better
					<lb facs='#facs_2_l_1' n='N002'/>anyway.
				
				
					<lb facs='#facs_2_l_11' n='N001'/>Your Wednesday -- or rather the letter you wrote
					<lb facs='#facs_2_l_12' n='N002'/>on Sunday -- has not yet arrived. I guess the mails
					<lb facs='#facs_2_l_13' n='N003'/>are on the bums again.
				
				
					<lb facs='#facs_2_l_14' n='N001'/>I just finished another volume of &quot;Abe
					<lb facs='#facs_2_l_15' n='N002'/>&quot;Lincoln&quot;, and as soon as I finish this, I&apos;ll head
					<lb facs='#facs_2_l_16' n='N003'/>for the PX and some ice cream. Lt. Strattan,
					<lb facs='#facs_2_l_17' n='N004'/>one of the men in the Dept who lives in the
					<lb facs='#facs_2_l_18' n='N005'/>next barracks, is waiting for me -- so I&apos;d
					<lb facs='#facs_2_l_19' n='N006'/>better hurry.
				
				
					<lb facs='#facs_2_tr_2_tl_1' n='N001'/>I don&apos;t have a section of my own this week,
					<lb facs='#facs_2_tr_2_tl_2' n='N002'/>so I have it a bit easier. However, I have
					<lb facs='#facs_2_tr_2_tl_3' n='N003'/>some work with the enlisted instructors to keep
					<lb facs='#facs_2_tr_2_tl_4' n='N004'/>me busy. Yesterday a taught 1st aid for
					<lb facs='#facs_2_tr_2_tl_5' n='N005'/>an hour -- and Friday I have to give them
					<lb facs='#facs_2_tr_2_tl_6' n='N006'/>Cannoneers Lops -- so they keep me from falling
					<lb facs='#facs_2_tr_2_tl_7' n='N007'/>asleep anyway.
