            <dateline><date when="1862-03-07">Friday 7</date></dateline>
            <p>There <objectName type="weather">came up a storm last night</objectName>, <name type="weather">raining and snowing</name>, and <name type="weather">blowing fearfully</name>, which
            continued through greater part of today. <name type="weather">The <placeName key="Sound" type="Water">Sound</placeName> was very rough</name>, <objectName type="vehicle">boats</objectName> could not leave
            the <objectName type="vehicle">ship</objectName>. We passed the day as usual. I got hold of <objectName type="readable">Lansings pictorial fact book</objectName>,
            and amused myself reading and copying the sketches. <time>This evening</time> <name type="weather">the sunset was beautifully clear.</name> We hardly think that we will sail before Monday.
            Tomorrow or Sunday it is not probable that we will start. Our <persName role="Surgeon">surgeon</persName> still
            continues in bed, and we would not get another on account of the <name type="weather">roughness of the sea</name>. We had an argument <time>this evening</time> whether the expression "tomorrow
            is Saturday," or "tomorrow will be Saturday" is right. I took the former &amp;
            <persName key="George Shorkley" type="real" cert="high" ref="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/BucknellDSC/jmlinn/refs/heads/main/jmlinn_personography.xml#jmlper002">Shorkley</persName> the latter. It is an affirmation of the "tomorrow" abstractly --
            we wish to express the future will would be proper -- But to simply
            predicate that of tomorrow it is Saturday, I think the present can be used.
