Zeller letter

Dear Mother, Dad, & Grandma--

Four months ago today I picked up my commission and headed for home. It doesn't seem that long - but at the same time it seems a very long time ago that I was just an enlisted man.

I've subscribed to Time for the coming --  renewing the subscription that was out in September - so don't you folks do anything about it.

It's been awfully hot. I'm content to simply hole up in my room, remove my uniform and relax. For that reason, I haven’t been over to see Harry Everitt. I'll try to go tomorrow evening.

No Demie by the name of Porter to the best of my knowledge. I can't imagine who it could have been.

Keep me informed of what develops in the church situation.

No, I haven’t heard from Jean Dyer for over a month. She was interested in a new job the last I heard.

I'll keep my eye open for indian dolls-- but I don't remember having seen any.

Not much new. It's been too hot to go anywhere or do anything. I took a nap yesterday afternoon and listened to the radio last night.

This morning I went into town to church - the Methodist this time. The service was very nice - more like our type of service. at home. But the minister doesn't come up to our local pastors. I'm going to try the Congregational next Sunday.
