James Merrill Linn Diary: 1861-1862

This was a pleasant day. I went to town with Smith McCormick & Cozer. I met Tom Grier & read a read a paper of the 6th. There was nothing doing at all. Dined as the Union & got back to camp for dress parade. I saw Dr Cutter and told him how our men were used in regard to rations at Beaufort. He intimated he had no control & that the party that were in there were at fault. I believe I will raise a row to Gen. Reno.
