Description
This poster depicts United States soldiers invading the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. It was created to stimulate support for the scrap metal drives on the home front. The rugged nature of the soldiers gives the poster an extremely realistic quality. The artist, Amos Sewell, did not contribute many works to the war effort. He was, however, a prominent artist for the Saturday Evening Post. His realism is his most dominant quality.
