Gandhi and coresidents planting holy basil (tulsi) at Sevagram Ashram in 1944. The holy basil was planted in memory of Kasturba Gandhi and Mahadev Desai, both of whom had died while imprisoned in the Aga Khan Palace for civil disobedience.
