            <dateline><date when="1862-06-13">Friday 13</date>.</dateline>
            <p>it was very <name type="weather">warm</name> toward noon, but in the afternoon <name type="weather">breeze</name> sprang up, as it
               generally does. This for noon we commenced drilling in the <objectName type="equipment">bayonet</objectName> exercise -
               This afternoon we had regimental, just after <objectName type="clothing">dress</objectName> parade we were greeted with
               a <objectName type="readible">mail</objectName> – I rec'd one <objectName type="readible">letter</objectName> of <persName key="John" type="brother">John</persName> of June 6th. Though it gets excessively <name type="weather">hot</name>
               at noon, I think that we will always have a <name type="weather">breeze</name> in the afternoon. I took off
               my <objectName type="clothing">leather collar</objectName> &amp; commenced wearing <objectName type="clothing">paper collars</objectName> – I think from that I
               caught a cold settled in my throat, which annoys me very much. I haven't felt
               anything like it since our march to <placeName type="city" cert="high" key="Camden" ref="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/BucknellDSC/jmlinn/refs/heads/main/jmlinn_gazetteer.xml#linnpl008">Camden<precision match="@ref" precision="high"/></placeName>. It is singular how easy one catches
               cold in this climate. I never was bothered so in inclement <placeName type="state" key="Pennsylvania" ref="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/BucknellDSC/jmlinn/refs/heads/main/jmlinn_gazetteer.xml#linnpl067">Pennsylvania</placeName>. The
               warmer the climate the thicker the <objectName type="clothing">stockings</objectName> is the old Travelers rule. The
               <objectName type="nature">mosquitoes</objectName> bother us at night considerably now. </p>
