I sent you a telegram today, so you should know all the news. I was appointed Corporal Friday. $16 a month more and the privilage of wearing stripes until I get to Sill. You'll find the order appointing me along with a set of stripes in with the next box I send home. I've also finished another volume of my diary. I'll send that too soon.
I leave tonight at five for Sill. I'll be on the train -- Pullman I hope -- for two days. I'll write en route and mail the letter the 1st chance I get. The address I telegraphed is only a guess. I'll confirm it officially as soon as I know for sure. But I think O.C.C. class #56. will get me anyway.
I'm busy packing and turning in equipment. And since there's not much new anyway - I shall close now.
Wish I could be with you for Christmas -- but don't feel sorry for me, for I'll have a good meal and lots of company.
